Before taking on the Executive Director role, David was the CEO of F&I Administration Solutions, LLC. Previously he served as Senior Vice President, Network Solutions at Dealertrack, Inc.
Lee Bowron has been consulting on service contracts, GAP and other F&I products for the past 17 years. He is a partner in Kerper Bowron/JH Briscoe which focuses on actuarial and reinsurance solutions for the F&I industry. Prior to consulting, he was the Chief Actuary for The General auto insurance. Bowron has written articles on GAP insurance, Vehicle Service Contracts and other topics for journals and magazines, including Best’s Review. He is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Dave serves as President of Safe-Guard, the leading F&I product administrator by volume in the world. Dave has over three decades of experience in both automotive retail as well as in protection product administration. Born in Chicago (go Cubs!), but raised in Atlanta (go Falcons!), Dave transitioned from Florida State University (go ‘Noles) to automotive sales in 1982.
He spent the next decade working his way up to General Manger, a position he achieved at age twenty-nine. Meanwhile, Dave’s brother, Doug Duncan, created Safe-Guard Products in 1992 and asked Dave to partner with him and purchase control of Diversified Automotive Group, Doug’s thriving Atlanta-based General Agency. Dave operated Diversified Automotive Group as President and CEO directly alongside Safe-Guard until Dave was asked to come on board full-time as an equity partner in Safe-Guard. Dave has been front and center for Safe-Guard’s impressive growth, maturity and industry-leading position during the past twenty-six years.
Today, Safe-Guard has almost six hundred associates operating in state-of-the-art facilities in Atlanta, Irvine, Toronto, Montreal and Melbourne (Australia). Safe-Guard’s partners include the top General Agents, the most successful Automotive Retail groups and the vast majority of the OEMs who offer private-labeled protection programs. Dave has helped lead Safe-Guard’s efforts to develop innovative products that protect consumers from the perils of ownership of automobiles, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, powersports and marine products. In addition, Dave has long been an industry leader and strong advocate for full transparency in the presentation of protection products to the consumer. As we move towards a full online experience for the consumer, Dave believes that someday soon transparency will fully replace negotiation.
Ron Greer is Vice President of PEN Services at PRovider Exchange Network. He is responsible for developing business relationships with F&I Product Providers and Agents for the Provider Exchange Network (PEN) division. Prior to this position, Greer held leadership positions in Product Management, Operations and Sales at Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP) and EDS. In those positions, he developed implementation and software utilization programs to support the launch and development of the Saturn Retailer System, an industry-first enterprise solution which integrated the Saturn Corporate Systems with the Dealership Software. Ron also holds the belief that Sam Tarly is an integral part of the ongoing saga and predicts the Detroit Lions will go 9-7 this season.
Kristen is the President of Dealers Assurance Company (DAC), now a subsidiary of iA Financial Group. She has worked in the insurance arena for over 25 years, mainly in roles specific to the F&I industry. Over the course of her career, she has focused on developing insurance solutions for agents, dealers, and OEMs. Today, Kristen and her management team of industry experts work to provide DAC’s clients with the exceptional regulatory, compliance, and analytical support they need to grow their business.
Lori Hallissey has had a far-reaching and successful career, spanning more than three decades in the automotive industry. She began her career in the early 1980’s in a Chevrolet/Oldsmobile dealership in San Diego. Enamored by the F&I side of the business she joined a rapidly growing TPA, ultimately running all operations for the company. Hallissey then branched out to manage and grow a multistate general agency serving California, Utah and Nevada. Her achievements there led her to be recruited to run all F&I product administration for Protective Asset Protection in Chicago where she continued her success. In 2013 she joined the Allstate Dealer Services team, where she led a large team as VP of Operations and Customer Experience. In October of 2016 Hallissey joined the Portfolio team as Chief Operating Officer to bring her extensive experience to one of the fastest-growing companies in the F&I business.
Arden Hetland is the President and Chief Executive Officer of American Financial & Automotive Services, Inc. and American Financial Warranty Corporation. The American Financial companies provide comprehensive development and administrative services as well as a full portfolio of Finance & Insurance (F&I) products to maximize dealership profits. The Automotive Training Academy (ATA), a division of American Financial, complements these offerings by preparing automotive professionals for the demands of the industry. Currently American Financial partners with over 1,000 dealerships nationwide.
After graduating from North Dakota State University, Mr. Hetland began his automotive career. He held multiple positions within the retail automotive business including Salesman, F&I Manager, and Sales Manager. Mr. Hetland left the retail side of the automotive industry and pursued a new opportunity with World Service Life. During his eight years with World Service Life, he won numerous sales awards which included Sales Person of the Year three different times. Mr. Hetland was then promoted to Vice President and Director of the Auto Services Group, and was then named Senior Vice President of Credit Insurance Sales. In 1986, World Service Life merged with American National Insurance Company and Mr. Hetland proceeded to become the Vice President of Insurance Marketing for the third largest insurance company in the country.
In 1991, Mr. Hetland made the decision to form his own company and incorporated American Financial & Automotive Services, Inc. Through exceptional customer service and only the highest standards of integrity, morals, and ethics, he has led American Financial to become the industry leader in F&I development. Due to this, the American Financial companies have received multiple endorsements from both state and metro associations. In addition, American Financial continues to receive top industry recognition and has been presented with numerous Dealers’ Choice Awards.
For over 40 years, Mr. Hetland has been dedicated to enhancing the professional image of the automotive industry. As a founding member of the Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals (AFIP) he made sure that American Financial was the first company to have their entire field force AFIP certified. Mr. Hetland has strengthened the ethics and compliance within the automotive industry by assisting with the development of the ACE certification program. Today, American Financial is regarded as the foremost authority on dealership compliance.
Dan Jones has worked in the automotive industry for twenty years. He is a principal of Eckbond Coatings Inc., an automotive appearance protection company based in Orange County, California. Jones joined Eckbond in January of 2015 and has been an integral part of its rapid growth since then. Eckbond provides environmentally friendly appearance protection products which have been independently tested for performance to the automotive retail industry. Prior to joining Eckbond, Jones was in charge of sales for Xzilon, Inc.
After graduating from the University of Southern California, Jones went to work for Touche Ross, an international accounting firm. Jones became a CPA while working at Touche Ross. Later, he earned an MBA in finance from California State University, Fullerton. Jones worked in various finance and management positions in the real estate and manufacturing industries before entering the automotive world.
Jones resides in Springboro, Ohio with his wife Janet.
Daniel has been with American Guardian Warranty Services since its inception in 1998, originally as a consultant and formally joined the management team in 2006. During this period Daniel has been an integral part of the growth and success of AGWS and their development of key industry leading technology solutions.
In 1996, Kelly founded National Automotive Experts (NAE), NWAN, Inc. and, more recently, Imprise Financial (an Ohio Captive Insurance company). Kelly and her team consistently strive for innovation. They are the company in the industry that people turn to when they need something “outside of the box.” They will research, discover, create and design new ways of doing business that help them exceed the needs of the client. This consultative business model has helped guide many of their clients to new levels of success and financial profitability.
Kelly and her organizations are also known for their charitable work within the community. They are particularly focused on one organization that helps children in the greater Cleveland/Akron area, the Cleveland Christian Home. In their most recent donor newsletter, Kelly and her husband, along with NAE/NWAN, were listed as the two top donors for CCH (the only two donors listed in the “above $50,000” category). The CCH is the top mission for both Kelly’s family and the NAE/NWAN family.
Mitch founded C&K Auto Parts with his brother in 1994 and they added Warranty Inspection Services in 2003. Concentrating on providing these services to Service Contract and Insurance related companies over the last 22 years, they now do business with over 75 Contract Administrators. Positioning his companies as leaders in technology has provided his clients with new and more efficient ways of doing business. Mitch has also written articles for P&A Magazine and participated on past Summit Panels.
Michael has spent the last 24 years in the Automotive industry working in Automotive Retail, Insurance, F&I Product Development, Reinsurance and Technology. The past 17 years have been devoted to creating, building and managing risk based F&I protection and automotive benefit programs for some of the biggest brands in the automotive industry. In addition to traditional and innovative protection products, he has focused on technology and software development related to the F&I and Connected Car industry. With a 360 degree acumen in Automotive Product Development, Administration, Product Compliance, Pricing, Risk Management, Reinsurance and Technology, Michael offers a unique perspective in bringing solutions to Axiom. When not working on Axiom projects, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and three children at the lake in the summer or riding ATV’s year round.
Michael Tuno, has spent many years in the dealer industry, as well as in the insurance and banking industries as they relate to the dealer industry. His experience includes all aspects of dealer business including: Sales, F & I, Compliance, Dealer Financing, Training, and Income Development. With many years of experience and his unique and well rounded financial and insurance background, Michael has discovered that every dealership has many missed opportunities to maximize cash flow and avoid the expensive fines and penalties of non-compliance.
Tony Wanderon has been an innovator and leader in automotive F&I since 1986. As the President of a large independent insurance agency and administrator, he established relationships with both major financial institutions and OEMs while pioneering several F&I products including GAP. In addition, after the sale of his company to a major insurance company he served nearly 15 years as President of several of their companies.
Wanderon is the founder of Family First Dealer Services, which he merged with National Auto Care (NAC) in 2013 and of which he is currently President and CEO. As CEO of NAC, Wanderon has partnered with some of the premier underwriters and service providers in the industry to deliver innovative products to independent agents nationwide.
Wanderon has a reputation as a visionary in the industry, and is often called upon to speak at industry events, serve on advisory boards, as well as regularly providing insight for several automotive F&I industry publications.
